We anchored out at Egg Harbor Beach on Sunday night with 3 other boats. The weather was very warm and it was a beautiful evening. We had friends aboard (Kym & Steve, and their two Jack Russell Terriers, Lexi and Kiki) and made chicken tacos for dinner. Here are some pics of some “Ruff Lifes”…

The weather finally warmed up (high 60′s) and the wind finally calmed down (less than 10mph). We took a day trip to Menominee for lunch on Saturday. Here is a picture of the Sherwood Point Lighthouse that is located at the mouth of the channel to Green Bay.

On Sunday, we decided to fire up the engines, throw the lines and take a little cruise out onto Lake Michigan. The water was great and we had fun tooling around before coming back to a very windy marina.

We, and I mean Scot, spent last Saturday installing new drawer extensions in the galley drawers. I absolutely love the additional space!

The boat received a new fresh water pump today – our 4th one. This time they ran all new wires, and so far so good! This is an important feature as it allows us to move the boat from the dock and still be able to use the head! Thursday night, Scot took this beautiful picture – it is the view from the back of our boat. We hope to go on a day cruise yet today, or on Sunday. Saturday’s weather looks to be cold and rainy.

We had a gorgeous day to enjoy the boat and cook out…Scot is trying out his new cast iron skillet on the grill. We had chicken stir fry for lunch!

Our first evening on the Ruff Life came with a few visitors! We had a gorgeous Loon swimming around the boat and we managed to snag a picture before it ducked under water and disappeared!
We then had our first guests of the season, Kym and Steve. They brought over some appetizers, fritos and dip! But Kym took one bite of the Fritos and said it tasted stale, upon further review, we notice that a mouse had enjoyed some Fritos himself – evidenced by the hole in the bag! We skipped appetizers last night…

We were scheduled to go in the water on Friday, May 1, but much to our pleasant surprise, QuarterDeck Marina (where we store and service the Ruff Life) launched her earlier in the week while we were out in Maryland babysitting my sister’s kids. Not only had they put us in early, they detailed the entire boat inside and out for us – complimentary! Needless to say, we are very appreciative of the extra attention and accommodations they give us! Here are some pictures of Ruff Life in her new slip (including night pictures).
